Holmesglen offer a full service to start your business – free to eligible participants. This includes business training and design of your business through creating a business plan that identifies legal, operational, marketing, WHS and financial planning for costs and potential sales levels for the first two years of operation, plus we provide a minimum of five professional mentoring sessions and monthly business health checks.
There is also a special NEIS Allowance, which is a non-income tested payment, which is provided for some NEIS-eligible business owners, and you may be able to receive this for the first 39 weeks of trading. Conditions do apply to the NEIS Allowance, as you must be currently on an eligible Centrelink payment to be able to access this component of NEIS.
Holmesglen also connect you to our business alumni, so you can discuss your progress, trade together, and generally keep on top of information about business in Australia. In the South East of Melbourne, we have created a free co-working space that may be available, on application, for your initial six months of start up phase.
We currently provide our training in an interactive, face to face online format, and offer class based programs again in the future when appropriate at multiple locations.
To be eligible for this free service, funded by the Dept. Education, Skills and Employment, you must be working less than 15 hours per week, or on a Centrelink Benefit or Pensions payment, and want to start a full time business after training ends.
